Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 7, 2026

The Baseball Access Project (“BAP,” “we,” “us”) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit based in the East Bay, California. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit baseballaccessproject.org (the “site”), how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies only to this site, not to information collected offline or through other websites.

Information you give us

Contact form. When you send us a message, we collect your name, email address, the topic you choose, and anything you write in your message. The message is emailed to our team and a copy is stored on our website so we can follow up.

Email. If you email us directly, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message.

Donations. Online donations are processed by PayPal (including Venmo and card payments made through PayPal). We do not see or store your full card or bank details. PayPal shares with us the information needed to record and acknowledge your gift, such as your name, email address, gift amount and date, and in some cases your mailing address. PayPal’s own privacy statement governs the information you give to PayPal. If you donate by check, we keep the information printed on the check and any note you include for our donation records.

Information collected automatically

Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how people find and use the site, for example which pages are visited, how long visits last, the type of device and browser used, the referring website, and approximate location (city or region). Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technology to collect this information, and Google processes it on our behalf. We use this information in aggregate to improve the site. We do not use it to identify you personally.

Hosting and security. Like most websites, our hosting and content-delivery providers automatically record technical information such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request. This is used to deliver the site, keep it secure, and prevent abuse.

Embedded services. Some pages load content from other providers, such as the PayPal donation button on our Donate page and web fonts from Google Fonts. These providers may receive your IP address and browser information when the page loads, and PayPal may set its own cookies.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored by your browser. We use:

  • Essential cookies that make the site work and remember your cookie preferences.
  • Analytics cookies set by Google Analytics.
  • Third-party cookies set by PayPal when you use the donation button.

You can review and change your cookie choices at any time using the cookie icon in the bottom corner of the site. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics across websites with the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. How we use information

  • To respond to your questions, requests, and applications for support
  • To process, record, and acknowledge donations, including tax receipts
  • To understand how the site is used and improve it
  • To keep the site secure and prevent spam and fraud
  • To meet our legal, tax, and nonprofit reporting obligations

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for targeted advertising. We share information only:

  • With service providers that help us run the site and our organization, such as website hosting, security, email delivery, payment processing, and analytics. They may use the information only to provide services to us.
  • When required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of BAP, our participants, or others.
  • With your permission.

Children’s privacy

Our programs serve young athletes, but this site is meant for parents, guardians, supporters, and partners. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has sent us personal information through the site, please contact us at info@baseballaccessproject.org and we will delete it.

How long we keep information

We keep contact messages for as long as needed to respond and maintain a record of our communication. We keep donation records for as long as required for tax and accounting purposes. Google Analytics data is kept according to the retention setting in our Google Analytics account, after which it is deleted automatically.

Security

We use reasonable measures to protect your information, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections to the site. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices

You can ask us to tell you what personal information we hold about you, correct it, or delete it by emailing info@baseballaccessproject.org. We may need to keep some information, such as donation records, where the law requires it.

Do Not Track. Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” setting. Because there is no common standard for how websites should respond to it, our site does not currently respond to Do Not Track signals. You can still manage analytics cookies with the cookie settings described above.

Links to other websites

Our site links to other websites, such as PayPal and partner organizations. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites, and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the new version on this page and change the effective date at the top.
